With phrases in Portuguese, Trivium conquered the Brazilians. September 7th, 2012.
The footprint of thrash metal with influences of Metallica, Slayer and In Flames in a minimalist way was the last band to take the BRB stage tonight. Trivium's show was undoubtedly one of the most exciting of the night for fans of metal. The Americans from Orlando showed to Porão do Rock Festival 2012 what they came for, showcasing the very best in a style that still moves generations.
The charismatic singer and guitarist Matt Heafy rehearsed a few words in Portuguese and reached his goal: he conquered the public. With phrases like “What's up Brasília?” and “You guys are fucking awesome!,” he inspired the crowd at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium. The band, which is coming to South America for the very first time, played the most important songs from their five albums. Among them "Throes of Perdition", "In Waves" and "Built to Fall".
One of the Trivium albums, Shogun (2008), stood at 23rd on the Billboard charts, sharing spots with bands like Iron Maiden and Slipknot. This exemplifies the quality of the show that the Brazilian headbangers could witness tonight, as the closing of the more metallic stage at PDR 2012.
